Thabo Mdluli attended Shanan Christian School, matriculated at 17. He went on to attend Damelin College, majoring in Journalism. Between his studies, Thabo made music, recording CDs with Family Factory and Joyous Celebration, performing solo at talent shows and Corporate events and directing his community choir African Flair.

Because of his musical aptitude, his first job after graduating from Damelin was not in the media - But he joined the cast of Richard Loring’s African Footprint. Just months before wrapping up his contract with African Footprint, he landed his first job on television as a presenter on a teenage entrepreneurial magazine show JUST B on SABC 3.

While still working toward mainstream success, Mdluli often performed on the local music circuit in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
